Women’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Southampton
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is for everyone, and women are a growing part of the room at MTHD. We’ll be honest: we don’t run a separate women-only class yet. It’s something we’d love to add as the club grows. But women train in every session here, and we work hard to make the mats a place you’ll feel comfortable from your very first class.
You’re welcome in every session
You don’t need any experience, any fitness, or any kit to start. Our beginner-friendly Fundamentals classes assume nothing, and there’s always more than one new person in the room. Here’s exactly what a first class looks like, and you can see the full timetable and prices any time.
How we look after new starters
You choose your partners
You are never made to train with anyone you'd rather not. Tell a coach and they'll sort it. No fuss, no awkwardness.
Thoughtful pairing for newcomers
Coaches pair new starters carefully, usually with someone experienced and patient who remembers exactly how the first few weeks feel.
Controlled, cooperative classes
Beginner sessions are cooperative, not competitive. No slamming, no cranking. You tap and your partner stops immediately, every time.
A women-only class, as we grow
A dedicated women-only class is on our wishlist, and the more women who train with us, the sooner we can make it happen. If it’s something you’d want, mention it when you book your free class or drop us a message. We’d genuinely like to know.
Come and try a class on us
Your first class is free, and there's no pressure to join. Book it in under a minute.
